Comic writer Marc Guggenheim - most famous for reinventing a newly single Peter Parker in recent editions of '
The Amazing Spider-Man', has been talking to
www.comicon.com about his role as a writer on the upcoming Green Lantern movie.
Guggenheim said he had been "working his ass off" on the script and that his incarnation of the hero will be an "incredibly faithful rendition of the character."
He continued: "It honours everything everyone loves about the hero. We approach it from a fan's perspective. Every step of the way, we ask ourselves what we want to see and what the fans will want to see.
"I think we have a script that will actually satisfy on those levels. Right now I'm just doing a rewrite for the studio with Greg (Berlanti) and Michael (Green). We'll turn that in next week. We just keep moving forward. It's really good stuff!"
At present Greg Berlanti is pencilled in to helm, with recent reports suggesting that George Miller would replace him still unconfirmed.
