I think what you are referring to is an American television production that was released as The Legend of Lizzie Borden (1975) starring Elizabeth Montgomery from the 60's TV show Bewitched. It basically laid out the whole story in flashbacks, while Ms. Borden awaited her verdict. It had a brilliant performance by Montgomery(probably her best "serious" role), and is fairly hard to find in any format. Occasionally it pops up on cable. There is a US and Foreign version(which contains slightly more nudity, Montgomery fans, don't get your hopes up. The photography is murky, the scenes are distorted and it's rumoured a body double was used). The film was part of a US television trend of docu-drama re-enactments of real crime stories. Some of the better ones - Helter Skelter, The Case of the Hillside Stranglers, To Catch a Killer and Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones.
There used to be a site dedicated to this one film. If you Google about, you might trip over it. I think they sell VHS format copies. I have seen it in both versions(for. and US) and there really is not much difference. As far as the real Lizzie, she got off(the OJ of her era) and spent the rest of her life hiding in anonymity.
As far as Bloody Mary, she's delicious, the morning after a good drunk.
