Definitely give
There Will Be Blood a spin as soon as possible.
And yeah, I'm with you on
Dexter. Really fun show. I'm finished with the first two seasons, but I need to catch up on the third.
La Règle du jeu (The Rules of the Game) (1939)
This one always gets better with repeat viewings. One of the most truly relevant and ventrous indictments of bourgeois society in all of its spectacular absurdity. It really takes to heart the Shakespearean idea, "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players". It's also hard not to be blown away with the techniques employed in filming it, too. The scenes are complex, and the camera work dances, fluid and graceful. As director Wim Wenders said about it, "In the years before the Steadicam, you wonder how a film camera could possibly have been so weightless." Watching it is a 106-minute-long film class in itself.
