No joke. The only reason at all a movie should be remade is because it had a great idea that never worked out (rather than the "how much more money can we make off the name of a proven winner ?" scenario) so I wanted to remake the worst to support that claim. Zombies and spaceships are about as cool as it can get and the original never played up either angle.
This is my version and I announced plans to do so at least 5 years ago when the remake craze was first starting (
