WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED INSIDE THE ZONE


Sector A:

PAPILLON NOIR moved cautiously forward. She was more on the alert for the Predator and the hidden weapon holder than her targets. She clutched her shotgun tightly and stopped more than once, looking around very carefully before proceeding forward again.

Some birds flew out from the top branches of a nearby tree, and Noir almost jumped back in surprise. BWIND had suddenly stood up from behind the tree, taken a quick peek at her, and started running in the opposite direction. Noir needed a moment to gather herself, and she lifted her shotgun to aim hurriedly.

BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!

The shells burned their way into bwind's back one after the other, and left it a bloody, pulpy mess and bwind went down, rolling forwards onto the slope and before he could think anything, he went straight into the river. He hit the water with a loud splash and almost fainted from the impact. Keeping his wits about him and fighting back the grueling, stinging pain from his back, bwind let the river pull his body forward as he slowly reached for his HPs.


DUDE GUADALUPE heard the loud splash from in front of him and hurried forward. He saw bwind floating down the river and tried to aim at him. Unfortunately the current was too strong and bwind quickly disappeared from sight. Dude cursed loudly once, and turned around. To his pleasant surprise, NIGHTMARE OF DEATH stared back at him from the other side of the river bank. Dude licked his lips and lifted his shotgun. Nightmare whirled to jump, but could never complete the action.

BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!

Almost in slow-motion, each shell followed the other in almost a single line as they pierced Nightmare's right thigh and leg. She went down, howling in pain. Just then, a big bunch of birds flew across the river from the top of the trees and Dude turned around quickly. He thought he saw a silhouette on the top branches, and grabbed at his Plasma Cannon. He blinked once, and the outline was gone. Still, Dude was taking no chances.

THRACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!

The plasma beam left a burning hole on 3 trees in a line before disappearing into the skies above. Dude looked at them with heightened excitement and expectation, and then his face fell. He hit his fists at the plasma cannon in deep frustration, as he knew the Predator had eluded him again.
