They're great pets - affectionate (VERY affectionate), smart, sweet-tempered. They're more work than your average cat; you need to make sure to keep them warm (though that shouldn't be a problem for you as you're in CA), you need to bathe them once a week (they get dirty crawling on the floor all the time and have NASTY earwax that needs cleaning) and their eyes need to be cleaned once a day (they have no eyelashes, so debris can build up and cause eye infections). They're sensitive to eye and ear infections (Ripley has already had an eye infection, but we took care of that quickly), but as long as you take care of them, they're fine.
