Jennifer's Body (2009). A movie liked or hated, my vote goes to likin' it. tThose looking for an award winning experience from a teen scream flick should grow up. The opening was a well shot intro to the horrors that is to become Devil's Lake I mean Devil's Kettle. The story was worthy and darkly entertaining, with some funky teen dialog thrown in for good measure. The acting was strong, especially for a teen horror flick. The direction was solid, and the production values were strong. How the scenes unfolded, with competent use of parallelism and narration, was a definite boon. This one did not rely on effects, but neither did it shirk the camera away when things got gruesome. Then ending was handled nicely, not giving way to a simple Hollywood denouement, though cathartic nonetheless. Overall it was 100 minutes well spent. Merci beaucoup.
