Starship Troopers
Picked up the boxset so I've been getting thru the series. Verhoeven is an amazing director he just brings so much stylistically to the table and lifts the bar on what would usually just be typical genre fodder (this film could've easily have been more like it's sequel had he not been at the helm). This still holds up well but is notably less dark in tone than his previous films.
Starship Troopers 2
Nowhere near as bad as I remember it but still very average after how good the first film is. Lacks any of the class it's predecessor had and it's socially commentary falls pretty flat but I liked the premise of the bug controlling people. Bit of a waste really considering this could've had a
Aliens meets
The Thing going on if it had a better director/cast/budget. I'm hoping the third one's better.

One of my all time favorites. That's one of the flicks that got me into horror in a big way. That scene where he scares the kids is priceless :D
