Rufus Sewell has been cast to join the high-profile 3-D adaptation of John Milton’s Paradise Lost. Sewell (The Tourist, The Holiday) will play Sammael, the seductive, destructive angel of death and chief supporter of Lucifer (Bradley Cooper).
The film also stars Camilla Belle as Eve, Diego Boneta as Adam, and Benjamin Walker, Casey Affleck, Dominic Purcell, Djimon Hounsou, Sam Reid, and Callan McAuliffe as the warring angels.
Alex Proyas, who directed Sewell in Dark City, is helming the epic, which is shooting for 2012 release.
