I must admit that I have developed feelings for this show, though season 2 was too dramatic for me; I kept feeling appealed to the plot... Season three is really nice, so far it has the perfect amount of drama, survival, action and zombies.... I read marilyn manson said he liked the show "not because of the zombies, more because it portrayed how people can actually turn and react in a survival environment"... I think thats exactly what keeps me hooked to the show

And this is exactly what makes the show more than just another zombie gorefest. It concentrates on the people, and tries to portray exactly what would happen in a zombie apocalypse in a more "realistic" manner.
The zombie apocalypse has hit- but you still have all your problems and concerns from before. Yes, there's drama. Because people have drama in their lives. Of course, a lot of horror fans these days are incabale of following character development... and this is what's wrong with horror in general today. They only want shocking moments and gore effects.
This is good solid storytelling. It's the continuing story of a group of real people in a bad situation... with zombies. Not a bunch of stick figures constantly being attacked by zombies.
