Why the (s)? I don't know. What I do know is that it was pretty much a waste of my time. It didn't tread any new ground but had "aren't I a shocking film?" written all over it. That sense of desperation - like the kid in school who eats his own snot just to get a response out of people - is what puts me off a lot of modern horror films. SAW has a lot to answer for, I suppose.

I liked it, however the Nazi patriarch dude kind of annoyed me, and I didn't think it was plausible that a family so dedicated to preserving their Aryan bloodline would "settle" for a Jewish chick as the mother of their next generation. I thought there were a lot of pretty sweet moments though, like the feral children, the killer pigs, the pressure chamber, the saw. I guess it's just a matter of taste though.
