The Mooring (2012)

A group of young girls are taken out on a houseboat in a sort of intervention outing but the trouble begins after the boat breaks down & the girls started to chased down one by one by a pair of psycho killers. Slow & average.

Elfie Hopkins (2012)

Set in a remote English village, Elfie Hopkins, an aspiring young detective, likes to spend most of the time along with her geeky best friend, Dylan, by investigating the villagers and upsetting everyone with their imaginative allegations. But Elfie's mundane existence is thrown for a spin with the arrival of a mysterious family of trendy city dwellers, the Gammons, in her neighborhood.
The cast & production value for this Britt horror-thriller were pretty good, I was even started to liking it but at the end it suffered for its rush ending where they unexpectedly killed off lots of characters.

Shadow People (2013)

The concept of shadow people or even sleep paralysis is always interesting, IMO but found it bit annoying as here they unnecessarily tried too much on creating the mood or a 'belief' that the whole thing is based on true events and which I found quite unconvincing. Every time (after almost every 10 minutes) the pace of the film got distracted by those "real life footage" of interviewing people of what they think or where they were at the time while something happened mysterious or about someone or about the news...blah..blah etc. Overall, a decent idea failed to impress for a disappointing treatment.

Curandero: Dawn of the Demon (2005)

Written and co-produced by Robert Rodriguez, the story of
Curandero begins when the federal agent Magdalena calls upon the local curandero for his services to purify a police station(!), the two suddenly find themselves immersed in a satanic cult's blood-thirsty battleground. Loved this idea where everyone in a typical Mexican town (from the police force to the underworld crime syndicates) believes in witchcraft & demons and how they seriously dealing with these horrifying issues. But I guess as an indie flick initially there were some problems with the background music as sometimes it seems there were no sounds in the background while there was a conversation between the characters and that's kinda made it bit odd to watch at times. But overall, nice idea with lots of gore but could have been a lot better with a better budget, I guess.

Kiss of the Damned (2012/13)

Somewhat 70's European style an erotic vampire flick with a very simple story about a nice writer guy Paolo falling 'desperately' in love with a hot vampire lady named Djuna & things starts to get kinda 'steamy' after the arrival of Djuna's trouble-making sister Mimi in the mansion. The two hot French hotties on the lead made it convincingly 'watchable' till the last frame of the movie.
