Franchise horror tends to be the broken clock that's right twice a day. For a franchise to survive, it needs a somewhat compelling original entry and one cool sequel for fans to defend in arguments, proving the validity of the franchise by showing that is 25 percent good. For me personally, the sequel that makes Nightmare on Elm Street a defensible franchise is Dream Warriors. It makes the possibilities of its world bigger and it has some genuinely cool kills.
