THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE (2001). Excellent film by Guillermo del Toro that reminded us a lot of PAN'S LABYRINTH with children encountering supernatural elements with The Spanish Civil war hovering nearby. However, the real world is more frightening than any ghost etc could ever be. Marvelous in every facet and well worth seeing. *****
