Who knew animals did this?

Okay, I was watching "The Serpent and the Rainbow" with my wife last night, enjoying a beer (YAY!!!), and i missed the end because something weird happened with our new dog.

For starters, we adopted a 7 year old pure-breed Beagle named Mary Jane (we call her MJ. Hey, iliked spiderman...) SHe is a good dog, and was used for breeding before her owner decided to move and couldnt "afford her anymore"

Anyway, she is a great dog. She is small, most people actually think she is a puppy. So we are watching the movie, and my wife notices she is shaking. At first we thought she might be cold, but she was under a blanket with my wife, and was nice and toasty. We realised after a few seconds that she was having a seizure.

She is being taken to a vet tomorrow, so we didnt panic too much (she is getting her sutures removed from being spayed last week), but it was the weirdest damn thing. i never knew dogs or any other animals could have seizures. i figured they could if they were injured, but who ever heard of an epileptic dog? I hadnt....

my next door neighbours' dog also has epilepsy, he's a dalmation, must be about 6 or 7 years old. He's also a bit deaf, but I gather this is a genetic trait carried by some dalmations for some reason.

My own experience was with a German Shepherd which unfortunately died from liver failure, pretty sad; it went blind overnight and died within hours. this was a few years ago i now have another GSD - Zara who is 5. So far no health problems.

I knew someone years ago, who had an German Shepard, it used to have shaking fits when it was asleep. Think the vets never really worked out what was causing it.

My ex-cat used to lick his fallus and would get an erection out of it.

Oh and I've seen kittens lick their mom's ass while she's in heat. That's a very interesting behavior.

cats do some strange things. Had a cat once, and before he got comfortable on the sofa, he used to do that padding thing like what kittens do when they suckle from their mother, but whilst he was doing it, he used to do these pelvic thrusts downwards... looked bloody hilarious.
