Dee Snider's Strangeland

I'm Looking For Reviews On These Movies. Dee Snider's Strangeland, George Romeros The Crazies, Return Of The Living Dead III, Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, Night of the Living Dead The 1990 Remake & Urbano Barberini's Demons.

Night of the Living Dead remake is good but don't expect the same amount of innovation.

The Crazies is very well done and I think one of Romer's best. I hope the remake is just as bleak and effective as the original.

Strangeland was ok, nothing too great but good for what it was which is an 80s rockstar's movie. Decent ending, I don't know, I think I'll watch it again though give you a more up to date opinon.

If it is a sale I'd get the three above and probably pick up Return of the Living Dead 3 but not TCM3...

Oh, I'd pick up Bava's Demons too, pretty good stuff.

Ive only seen NotLD '90, but it's a great movie. Easily one of the best remakes ever, right up there with The Thing or They Fly. The actors, for the most part, are perfectly cast, the effects are well improved, and the story, while only changed slightly, is pretty cool. While it has a different ending than the original, it still has a very cool, unexpected ending. Overall, it doesnt live up to Romero's classic, but it's still a great horror movie.

I enjoyed the Crazies, didn't see Strangeland, Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III was good. I didn't enjoy Return of the Living Dead III as much as the first one but it's still good in My opinion, NOTLD remake also pretty good, I liked Demons but preferred Demons 2.:D

Strangland was a good idea but didn't reach it's full potential. But you do get to see Robert England dancing about in his pants!
I think the Crazies is ok but it has aged badly.
Chainsaw 3, I have a softspot for Leatherface so a bit biased on this one. The film has some good characters in but the ending that got tagged on by the studio as they didn't like the original Jeff Burr ending sucks. If you get it get the unrated US version which at least has the original ending on as an extra. Also dig that shiny chainsaw!!
Night of the Living Dead remake not so impressive. It does have Bill Mosely in (Ottis from 1000 Corpses and Devils Rejects) and of course was directed by Mr Savini, but it is a bit of a let down.

I never did get a change to see "The Crazies". Sometimes that happens with older movies, it tends to be 'out dated'. Reminds me of the scene in "DC Cab" when Gary Busey was showing his 'beefed up car stereo'. lol@the lines:
His cab was shaking and he says "200 watts! 6 speakers! With a power booster! Now watch this!" cranks the radio and the glass shatters. What makes it out dated is the fact that today's factory equipment comes standard with 6 and sometimes even 8 speakers with 400 to 500 watts. :)

Didn't care for "Strangeland". I liked "Return Of The Living Dead 3" for the fact they actually made it more of a serious movie, but some of the special effects went too over-the-top like 'River Man' and that gang banger with the crazy 'snake neck'. I did like the "Night Of The Living Dead" remake with the cool special effects, although it didn't have the dark, creepy, atmosphereic tones the original had.
