King Kong (2005) DVD
Just wanted everyone to know that this AMAZING film hits stores tomorrow (March 28th).
I'll be picking up my 2 disc collecters edition ASAP tomorrow morning. :D :D :D I'm sooo pumped.

I'm actually excited to re-visit this movie too, if on the small screen.
I will say, though, that it will be more of a. . .second chance kind of thing. To be honest, I didn't really LOVE Peter Jackson's wet dream version of KING KONG. I have a lot of mixed feelings about it: 1. The islanders. . .I mean. . .I was a little offended there. 2. I would almost say. . .the look was a little TOO cosmetic--I mean everything just kind of glowed and sparkled and was perfect, and that kind of turned me off. 3. The dinosaurs. . .are you kidding? Like. . .they seemed to light and weightless--they may look better (for the most part) than Spielberg's JURASSIC PARK dinos, but they CERTAINLY don't have the great chiaroscuro and MASSIVE weight and presence of those in JP. I just didn't love it, but I DO want to give it another chance and see if I missed something. < a thousand Peter Jackson fans pelt "hello,danny" with DVDs > A WILL say (put down your weapons) that his LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy hardly EVER falted, and did so only ever did so slightly.

It was long...very long. Also, you spend most of the movie watching Jack Black become a little more evil and a little more depraved and you want him to die. Does he die, no of course not he gets the last word...piss me off.

I've got standard & directors cuts of LOTR, i found the first hour of Kong a bit flabby, as much as i loved the film theres no way i could sit through a DC of Kong.

Just watched it last night- it's as good as I remember. God, I love this movie. I'll be watching it with commentary tonight.
