Favorite Dumb Cartoons

I always like watching me a silly old dumb cartoon. Older is better but even some newer ones are good. I went on a big Pokemon binge a few years ago, I had probably fourteen or fifteen different Pokemon tapes and also soundtrack music. Then I got sick of it. I like robot cartoons too, cutey animal cartoons, all that stuff. It doesn't have to be good, just fairly competent and I'll sit down and watch it. What the heck....even if it's crap, I'll still enjoy it.

Yeah, just come on and tell us all about it...tell us about your favorite crap cartoons!

In the 70's I saw reruns of Hercules (remember that satyr or centaur or whatever he was, who would say "Nih nih nih nih nih nih! Look out, Herc!" etc). There was also Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse, Gigantor, Sinbad the Sailor with his magic belt. All crap. All fun. Roger Ramjet, the Jay Ward cartoons with Rocky and Bullwinkle and all those.

So so many cartoons, it's not healthy for a man of my age.

Dumb ones - I loved the Tick to bits.
And for those who know them (I'm English):

Jamie and his magic torch
Doctor Snuggles
Chorlton and the Wheelies (OK, claymation rather than cartoon)
Dangermouse - legendary!

I'm gonna throw in a controversial line. I honestly thought He-man marked the death of kids' TV in the 80s. Now I know most of you are (in some cases a lot) younger than me. I think it was a question of timing - I was at that age where I thought I was too grown up for kids' TV, and He-man marked a whole new type of cartoons/animation. People a few years younger than me back here say it was the best thing ever, but I can't see it myself. So what do you think? Was I wrong?

Cartoons I watch regularly now (on TV or DVD):

Simpsons (obviously)
Futurama
Family Guy
American Dad
Ren and Stimpy
South Park
and many many more
