Don't look now

Haven't seen this mentioned here before. Is this considered a horror movie? It got nominated for one of the most shocking moments in movie history...

Thoughts?

P.S. I haven't seen it yet

Horror/Thriller you could make a case either way I guess. I don't remember it all that vividly, but I have seen it. And of course there's a remake scheduled.

You can destroy my specimens but what about the millions that wait to greet you outside?
Do you really think you can blow the piss out of them?
All of them?

Don't look Now is imo something of a hidden gem.Sutherland and Christie give powerfully emotional performances that are absolutely believable.Director Nicholas Roeg's movie is barely a Horror movie at all, more a psychological exploration of grief and the healing process.Visually the movie is full of flair, the cinematography is wonderful and the editing is perfect. The shocking moment you refer to does shock and does linger afterwards but thats due more to the build up rather than the scene itself.Great movie :)

its definitely in the psychological thriller category but it kinda crosses over into horror in the same way session 9 does. IMO psychological thriller (as well as sci fi eg.event horizon, the thing, alien) should belong to the horror category but i'm sure most will disagree. think of jacobs ladder along with the already mentioned two classics and i think you'll at least reconsider for a while. i mean, psycho doesn't exactly have a huge body count yet it was one of the most horrifying cinema experiences in movie history. don't look now is far too sinister to not be deemed horror. ps, watch the brood if you liked don't look now!
