Here's a Question

I just realized, that most movies seem to be based on a novel or short story, or comic, or... disney ride. So i'm asking, what do you think are the best film's that are not based on any pre written/built work?

Pulp Fiction has to be one of them.
Donnie Darko
Kill Bill
Alien(s)
Memento
28 Days Later

I don't think any of those were from anything else, but those are some good ones.

in terms of regular film - citizen kane

in horror i'd say most of the greats have no source material - the dead quadrilogy, halloween, nightmare on elm street, etc.

Most of the greats? Frankenstein, Dracula, Phantom of the Opera, Hunchback of Notre Dame, EA Poe adaptations, etc., etc.....
