Wow, that's really good! Do you have any tips for a newbie?

The best tip is to get out there and shoot. There's a myth that filmmakers are just born. Which is ridiculous. Nobody looks at a great guitarist and thinks they picked up the guitar and just started killing it.

Both of these shorts were done for fun and practice, I've done a lot of real crap that I would never ask anyone to watch.
