..MIAMI (AP) — A witness says a naked man chewing on the face of another naked man on a downtown highway ramp kept eating and growled at a police officer who fatally shot him to make him stop.

Larry Vega told WSVN-TV in Miami (http://bit.ly/L6kwWt) that he was riding his bicycle Saturday afternoon off the MacArthur Causeway that connects downtown Miami with Miami Beach when he saw the savage attack on the bridge's off-ramp.

"The guy was, like, tearing him to pieces with his mouth, so I told him, 'Get off!'" Vega said. "The guy just kept eating the other guy away, like, ripping his skin."

The slain man was identified by the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner's office as Rudy Eugene, 31, Miami television station WFOR (http://cbsloc.al/LZlxol) reported.

Vega flagged down a Miami police officer, who he said repeatedly ordered the attacker to get off the victim. The attacker just picked his head up and growled at the officer, Vega said.

As the attack continued, Vega said the officer shot the attacker, who continued chewing the victim's face. The officer fired again, killing the attacker.

Miami police have released few details about the attack, other than confirming that there was a fatal officer-involved shooting. The name of the victim, who was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, had not been immediately determined by authorities, said Detective William Moreno. Messages left Monday for a police spokesman were not immediately returned.

A spokeswoman said Monday that the hospital would not be releasing any information about him.

A surveillance video camera from The Miami Herald building nearby captured images of the men's naked legs lying side by side after the shooting.

Vega said the victim appeared gravely injured.

"It was just a blob of blood," Vega said. "You couldn't really see, it was just blood all over the place."

If that shit doesn't sound like the opening scene of a zombie movie, I don't know what does. While eating someone's face on the side of the highway, this motherfucker got shot, growled and continued eating face!?! Naturally, authorities aren't saying anything.

I read that story and it was chilling. That, my new friends, is true real life horror. You have got to wonder what else that security camera picked up. Especially since both their feet were in frame, it had to have picked up a fight or struggle. Strange days are here!

Now authorities are saying the attacker was all hopped up on bath salts and went crazy. (Bath salts? wtf?)

The victim is in critical condition and missing 80% of his face.

I heard that it was cocaine, but bath salts make sense too.

Wow that is extremely disturbing, sounds like it's straight out of a horror movie. I'll have to share this with my family tomorrow when I see them as we're all fans of zombie movies :p But man that is just twisted as hell to say the least...

I saw the pictures...not good...
That's what I don't understand though, I find it hard to believe that nobody saw this happening or helped until it was as far as it was.
Like, I can understand being pretty apprehensive to step in when a person is like, well whatever the fuck was wrong with him...but, I don't know I'd probably at least have tried to put a running kick into the guys head/face to (hopefully) distract him long enough for the victim to get help or flee.

Though yeah...of course, as will be the case with a lot of people on this site...only one thing came to mind when I read this.

Reanimated corpses seem a little far fetched, but some kind of disease or madness...could be more likely.
Also the whole "mad cow" thing, what happens when a person eats another person?
