17 Year-Old Attempts To Murder 9 Year-Old Sister
Police Say Teen Tried To Kill Sister
Austintown - A 17-year-old senior at Austintown Fitch High School has been accused of trying to kill his 9-year-old sister and making the attack look like a burglary. Austintown police filed charges of aggravated attempted murder against Brandon Bryant, 17, 4791 Shadow Oak Drive. Police went to the home at 4:27 a.m. Thursday when Monica and Willie Bryant III, Brandon's parents, called police and said there had been a burglary at their home. The parents told police they'd been awoken around 4 a.m. by a high-pitched scream coming from their 9-year-old daughter's room. The girl told her mother her brother had come into her room and had pushed down on her head and that she hadn't been able to breathe, police said. Willie Bryant checked on his son, who appeared to be asleep in his own room. The girl asked to sleep in her parents' room. Then, her mother noticed blood on the girl's pajama shirt and neck and thought at first she'd had a bloody nose; the girl then began crying uncontrollably. Upon further inspection, the blood was found coming from a cut on her neck or throat area, police said. Willie Bryant went downstairs to check the rest of the home and found personal items and valuables strewn on the living room floor. The Bryants woke their son and asked him what had happened; he denied harming his sister. When police arrived at the home, they saw a screen and window pushed up a few inches in the living room. Willie Bryant's coat had been left on the floor along with cell phones, silverware and other articles. Police saw no evidence anyone had come in or out of the window; there were no footprints on the light-colored carpet, and a Christmas tree directly in front of the window had not been disturbed. "The victim's neck appeared to be cut, and she said couldn't breathe,'' said Austintown Detective Sgt. Raynor Holmes Jr., explaining the attempted murder charges. "She also said she was unable to see.'' Holmes said he had not had a chance to interview Brandon by Friday afternoon, but said the teen had denied any involvement with his sister's injuries. The girl was treated by her family doctor. Holmes said he believes Brandon may have faked the break-in to cast suspicion for the attack on burglars. Because he is a juvenile, Holmes said he could not comment on the teen's past record. Brandon is being held at the Juvenile Justice Center pending a hearing before judge Theresa Dellick.

Man why would a guy hurt his own sister. Meaning thier family and faimly are supposed to look out for one another, not try to kill one another.
