Modern Western Recommendations

So I've recently been watching the TV shows Deadwood and Hell On Wheels and I'm in the mood for some modern era/revisionist westerns. Dug The Proposition but was wondering what I've perhaps missed out on...

How about the remake of TRUE GRIT? And depending on exactly how you look at the word "modern" you might try (and probably have already) THE WILD BUNCH. It may have been filmed in 1969 but could be viewed as modern due to the appearance of automobiles, something you wouldn't expect in a movie about the James Gang or Billy the Kid. I have it in my head the story took place in the early 1900s but can't verify that.

Loved the True Grit remake. The Wild Bunch is great too. By modern I was meaning films that have come out more recently as I've watched a lot of the classics already and a lot of the time some of the newer movies slip me by.

Jarmusch's Dead Man
Firefly, the TV show, and the corresponding movie Serenity. They're sci-fi westerns.
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford was worth a watch, at least.

Cheers guys will get onto some of those.

Big fan of Dead Man. Must've watched it at least 10 times when it came out. That was my introduction to Jim Jarmusch.
