High paced gory action. The story could've been better, but it was entertaining nevertheless.

Are you for real?
Those movies are nothing alike and one's vague while the other one is clear.

I just said the only similarity was the ambiguity.

The Babadook (2014)

I liked it. But honestly. I didn't want any of the characters to live. And I've seen too many horror movies when I keep waiting for them to phone an exorcist.

I don't remember them calling a priest or anything, which I liked. Lots of horror movies do that.

The only similarity in the movie's that characters in both movies have lost someone.
The Descent's only ambiguous if you want it to be that.

The Hills Have Eyes

Another insanely fun and gory film from Alex Aja. It started out kinda slow in the first half with really only one big attack scene in the travel trailer. The second half was much more thrilling, and I love how the Doug fought back against the mutants. Two minor problems though: I wish there would have been a bit more explaining for Ruby, and I would have liked to known a bit more about the mutant that used the walkie-talkie to coordinate attacks.

Recommended.

It depends on the ending you've seen. One ending of The Descent does give off an ambiguous vibe.

SPOILERS
With The Babadook, i didn't actually think it was supposed to be ambiguous since the kid saw everything the same time she did. I believe it was supposed to be more of a metaphor for mental illness than an actual ambiguous ending. It can come off that way in the same sense that The Descent did.
END OF SPOILERS

Olympus Has Fallen (2013)

Not bad but it's like a Die hard rip-off in white house set up!

Predestination (2014)

A weirdly fucked up Time travel thriller! Loved it!

Recommended to Angra, Villain & Chrono, looking forward to hear your thoughts

Agree. Including the ending, the whole "Babadook" set up is actually tells here more of a single mother's constant struggle to keep things right under the very threat of a complete psychological breakdown & losing everything before her own eyes. The whole fear of Babadook was very much alive for them as it comes within their insecurity, frustration & challenges to cope with the surroundings & live a regular, normal life but still everything seems falling apart...and then there comes the Babadook, a magnificent manifestation of psychological horror!

More than for an "Iconic Villain," The Babadook will always have high mark from me for its excellent character development, performance & its chilling atmospheric horror all over place from star to finish.
