The Descent, Year Zero Anyone read?

I came across these two about a year ago, both by a guy named Jeff Long. I read a ton and they were two of the best I've ever read. The Descent is more horror with Year Zero being more on the sci-fi side. Their the kind of books that make you go back and read them over and over. Take a look at their summaries on amazon.com, I'd like to hear someone elses opinion on them. Long just came out with a new book which I'm going to order...
