Looking for Half-Remembered Films
My friend and have been discussing snippets of movies we caught as children that terrified us. We have scoured the internet and can't seem to locate them. We will write the description to the best of our memories, and we hope one of you horror buffs out there will decode our foggy remembrances:
1. A man in a an old, fancy house is pursued by a headless person. During a shot of a long hallway, it runs towards the camera accompanied by a horrifying noise. I can't remember if it was in black and white, or had that vintage, David Lynchian color scheme, but I remember it feeling dated. I believe it was accompanied by a host of bizarre other events. 2. A man slowly slips into madness because every time he looks in a reflection he sees a horrifying crypt keeper or corpse like thing sitting behind him. He sees it in mirrors and on any glossy surface. He goes so crazy that he has to cover everything glossy in his house. Like covering his grand piano with a sheet. I remember at some point a reporter come to do a story on the man and during the interview he flips out because he sees it in the camera lens. It seemed like a more modern film because I believe it was in color. What has made it harder to track down is that it could be and episode of a show like twilight zone or tales from the crypt instead of a movie. I was just too young to remember. |

#2 sounds like something the Night Gallery TV series would do, you could search the episode list on IMDB

There is an episode of the Night Gallery that is similar called "Painted Mirror." However, in the episode, the man sees an alien landscape in the mirror. Additionally, it seems too old to be what I am remembering.

I know its crazy, but we are still searching for these twelve years after the original post. I checked out "From Beyond The Grave" and I have to admit it sounded really close, especially the mirror leading the main character to becoming a recluse and others becoming alarmed at his strange behavior. However, I don't think it was it. It felt a bit older than what I recall (I saw it in the 90s, but it could have been older), and it only had the mirror, rather than any reflection, like the piano and camera lens. Additionally the ghost in the mirror was mainly just a man, rather than a crypt keeper-like corpse, without whom, I am not sure it would have stuck in my memory so hard.
