Lucky # Slevin

Solid acting and really fun set design and camera work, but a little too snappy for its own good - twisty, yet predictable.

A pleasant diversion but not a great film by any stretch of the imagination. 6/10

All the animals are smothered in their lairs.
I am too absent-spirited to count;
The loneliness incluces me unawares.

And lonely as it is, that loneliness
Will be more lonely ere it will be less--
A blanker whiteness of benighted snow
With no expression, nothing to express.

They cannot scare me with their empty spaces
Between stars--on stars where no human race is.
I have it in me so much nearer home
To scare myself with my own desert places.

Yeah I hated it. It was a cheap gimmic, a cop out that completely nullified everything prior.

*****spoiler*****
I have no problem with the idea that someone could be delusional enough to think they see a killer while actually killing. But to present it with such a blatant disregard for logic was sloppy and amaturish.

Sure it was shot great and the gore was beautiful, but the STORYTELLING was awful. A car chase with yourself? Crap.

100% agree there.

Last movie I saw was Alone in the Dark (1982). I liked it, but I think it would actually be a good candidate to be remade.

if something is well shot, well acted, has enough elements to keep me entertained - i can easily overlook things like this.

jesus christ as horror fans we've been asked to suspend our disbelief more than any other breed of film fan ..

its so rare we get anything close to well acted - i just can't complain about something the quality of haute tension because of a goofy plot device..

I'm the same way. The plot hole was rather large, and I can see how people could hate the movie for it. But I don't. The movie was just too damned attractive.
