Probably VHS.

I think my mother had seen it, she liked the thriller genre and seemed to think I'd enjoy it...I was about 11 as I recall.

3 - How was your first viewing experience?

While I like it now, I found it boring and drawn out then.
I was very into action and horror at the time. Words were like, superfluous to my movie experience at this stage in my life.

4 - How many times have you re-watched it since?

About 3.
Definitely thought a lot more of it when I wasn't being immediately dismissive. Rates as one of my top thriller films to this day.

5 - Any special memories associated with it, that you wish to share?

I thought Jodie Foster sounded like she was always talking around a mouthful of gum.
I used to like imitating Hannibals "FS-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S" and "Where will it tickle you when you see your little girl on the slab?" at school.
They did not like this.
Never thought any of the sequels really did it justice.

2 - Did you get any feedback (from friends or media) prior to watching it? I had a few friends that had seen it and said it was good. I was 13, so I don't remember a whole lot.

3 - How was your first viewing experience? It was good. I don't remember being scared by it, but my sister definitely was. I definitely thought the face mask part was awesome.

4 - How many times have you re-watched it since? No idea on this one. Probably about 5.

5 - Any special memories associated with it, that you wish to share? Just that I'm thankful my dad liked horror movies and let me watch it.

I haven't seen Silence of the Lambs in years. I'm talking 90s. I can't even remember seeing the whole movie. I'll put it on my watch list. I will say that I think Manhunter is the best in this series. I'll check out that new TV show that airs soon.

1. The first time I watched it was probably when I was five on vhs.

2. None, I just watched it. I did not really have any friends.

3. My first viewing experience was great, I really enjoyed it.

4. I have re-watched it dozens to hundreds of times, this movie is awesome.

5. The only memory I can think of was that I tried to imiate Hannibal, in terms of his manners.

I can't remember any feedback from friends. But from the media I got the impression it was good and mainstream.

3 - How was your first viewing experience?

I made the awful mistake of taking a date, a new girl, to the movie with me. She wasn't into it. I discovered it when I whispered a sarcastic joke to her mid in the movie. I could tell it wasn't my comment, she just was not settled or enjoying the movie. I asked if she wanted to leave, but she declined. She was courteous about it. But as you can imagine, I couldn't enjoy myself.

4 - How many times have you re-watched it since?

Once.

5 - Any special memories associated with it, that you wish to share?

Besides the date... I was really into the relationship between Clarice and Hannibal. That was really the movie. Everything else was very old shoe to me.

You may have already seen it; but in case you haven't, I thought Red Dragon was very good. It has Edward Norton and Hopkins. Was a suspenseful chess game I thought.

Saw it in the theaters with my brothers

I had heard that there was a spoiler from the previews

I really enjoyed the movie and its scares but i predicted the twist on the way to the theater so it didnt shock me.

4 - How many times have you re-watched it since?
Once or twice

5 - Any special memories associated with it, that you wish to share?
There was something wrong with the particular reel that was sent to that theater as the boom mic could clearly be seen during many shots and not even subtly. During the scene in the classroom where Cole is talking about the people being hanged in the school, the boom mic stretched across the entire shot extremely visible. Me and my brothers could not contain our laughter during that scene and probably annoyed a few people but it remains something that the three of us still talk about.

3 - How was your first viewing experience? Did the "twist" make you jump out of the seat? I thought it was great. Still do. I didn't expect the twist, but I also had no clue what the movie was about, going into it, other than ghosts.

4 - How many times have you re-watched it since? A few. I don't own it, and I own a lot of movies. So I guess that says something.

5 - Any special memories associated with it, that you wish to share? When I took my sister with me to see it, the theatre blinked the lights on and off before the film started, mimicking supernatural activity. I thought that was great, and hoped it was a sign of a coming return of theatre parlor tricks and humbuggery. Unfortunately, it was just an isolated incident.
