The absolute best part is after the credits, so make sure to stick around through the end.
Miraculous!? What?

SPOILERS BELOW!

She was killed! lol

She didn't just "get better" like Ash...

Yeah, I get it (or at least I think I do). She died, then the spirit that was in her was separated and that was what came out of the ground that she bifurcated (the "abomination").

Ash never died or was buried. I realize that arguing the logic behind any chapter of Evil Dead movie is sort of a moot point, but I still didn't care for that part of the movie.

I also think that the possessed pals died too easy. I kept expecting them to show back up, but they never did.

Also, her tongue was fileted, yet she's talking fine at the end of the film.

But, like I said, I enjoyed it, for the most part. No reason to let logic get in the way of a good, gory, horror yarn.

I really liked it. It had enough references to the original so that it paid homage to it but put it's own spin on it so that it wasn't just a ripoff. It really took itself seriously and didn't try to insert any stupid humor into and the winks to the audience towards the original films (like the chainsaw) were done tastefully instead of comically. One thing i loved about the movie is that this is the first horror movie i've seen in awhile that actually seemed to have real fear in it. I'm not saying that it was crazy scary but the characters seemed genuine and terrified and that fear came across. I could picture myself there and understand and feel their terror. The one thing i didn't like was what Knife Fight said as well, that...

SPOILERS

Mia magically came back to life and was fine. I was waiting for the ruse to end and for her to attack David but of course that didn't happen

END OF SPOILERS

Other then that i thought it was a great movie and an actaully good remake. I however did not stay till the end of the credits. I wasn't aware that there was something there. I would appreciate it if someone who did would message me what happened.

Saw it on opening night and enjoyed it very much. As a long-time fan of the original trilogy I definitely wasn't disappointed with this remake.

I just watched the new Evil Dead (2013) movie this past weekend and I thought it was brilliant. I will not go as far as saying that it was better than the original (honestly, this is like comparing apples and oranges, due to how different this film was from the original). The acting was excellent and the story was very interesting. It even had its moments where it was really scary. I especially loved its use of "dead silence" moments (on that note, the score was really good too). I liked how they preserved the core elements of the original, while doing something completely new with it. My primary criticism was that there was way too much gore (although, if you consider the original, it is not surprising that there was a lot of gore). Personally, I do not like too much gore in my films, horror or otherwise. This film was definitely one of the better remakes in the past 10-15 years. Ultimately, I would say that the film was a brilliant masterpiece with virtually no flaws (except excessive gore).

As for the logic aspect mentioned earlier, horror movies do not necessarily follow conventional logic. Since many of them deal with things that only exist in the imagination (such as, demons), they are not bound by this conventional logic. The films establish their own rules and should only be criticized when they violate their own rules.

Considering Ash turned back to normal after seeing the necklace in the original I don't think anybody can argue Evil Dead logic lol.

B+

And if you have not seen it yet, be sure to stay through the whole credits.
-I think your score of B+ is right on the mark. But, I must be super jaded (I should go see it again) all anyone is talking about it the "Gore!!" I don't remember it being over the top or any more than any other horror / slasher I have seen. -"Stay through the credits!!???" aaah, what did I miss? :( I have to go see it again.
