Myriad Pictures and The Weinstein Company are uniting to handle the North American distribution for Dario Argento's Mother of Tears.

Contrary to previous reports coming out of the Toronto International Film Festival where "Tear" was recently screened and widely accepted, Anchor Bay is not involved.

Instead, Myriad Pictures will take on the role as Mother of Tears' North American theatrical distributor. TWC, meanwhile, will use their exclusive relationship with Genius Products to issue the third film in Argento's "Three Mothers" trilogy on DVD.

In a statement issued by Myriad, Kirk D'Amico, President and CEO, said, "This time, it was about the passion that Harvey, Barry Gordon and the TWC team had for the film that got the deal closed. We look forward to Myriad handling the theatrical release alongside their expertise and experience on the DVD and rest of media side."

Myriad intends to release the film theatrically in the U.S. and Canada sometime after the beginning of the new year.

For all you "sleazy" ones who loved the one-liner of Hannibal King in Blade: Trinity (the one where he says "Her name is Danica Talos. You met her earlier. And unlike typical vampires, her fangs are located in her vagina...") and wished if only that would be true...well, its granted.

Hitting both NY and LA on November 30th, and then nationally in December, is Mitchell Lichtenstein's Sundance horror-dark comedy, Teeth, which follows a high school student (Dawn) with an odd mutation... she has teeth inside her vagina. She's a young woman preaching abstinence, which is a good thing for the boys... until she's raped.

Talk about wishes coming true...how many of you will queue up to watch this one?;)

i'm looking forward to the last installment of the trilogy. i've seen some pictures and read about it and apparently this is, according to argento himself, the goriest movie he's ever made.

Russell Mulcahy to direct 'Vampires'

Russell Mulcahy ("Resident Evil: Extinction") will helm "Zen in the Art of Slaying Vampires," a project being mobilized by CP Prods. partners Michael Cerenzie and Christine Peters.

Capitol Films' David Bergstein will finance and sell the pic, which is based on a novel by Steven-Elliot Altman that's the first in a three-book series.

Protag is turned into a vampire as he and his lover are attacked in lower Manhattan. She dies, and he struggles to overcome his murderous instincts and thirst for blood through Zen meditation. A struggle for his soul ensues between the bloodsuckers and the zen masters.

Altman is writing the script, and CP's Cerenzie and Peters will produce. They are also working together on a game version of "Zen."

Mulcahy said he liked "the pathos of the lead characters and the way it is wrapped in a world of mythology."

Altman recently penned "9Dragons" for Acclaim Games, and CP is developing a movie version of "Joust," a graphic novel Altman is writing.

Ever wondered how it would feel to be a man who is murdered each day by unknown killers, only to wake up in a parallel life and get murdered again?

Sort of like Groundhog Day meets Saw?

Then look no further.

Dario Piana's The Deaths of Ian Stone tells the story of an all-American guy who is murdered each day by horrifying pursuers, only to wake up in slightly different lives to experience the terror of being murdered again.

This is one of the top films announced thus far for this year's After Dark Horrorfest - which includes Frontiere(s), Unearthed and Nightmare Man so far.

Horrorfest runs Nationwide from November 9-18.

I will post full details as soon as they are available.

Anaconda 3 and 4 - Guess who is the hero

Sony have commissioned a further two sequels to Luis Llosa's “Anaconda” – sans the original’s all-star cast. You’ll never guess who’ll be doing battle with the giant snake this time?

None other than ‘The Hoff’!

Yep, David Hasselhoff’s on River-Watch for the Don E. FauntLeRoy (“Urban Justice”; cinematographer on "Jeepers Creepers 2") directed sequels – both filming back to back.

He’s joined by Crystal Allen (“Maid in Manhattan”), John Rhys Davies (“Lord of the Rings”) and Zoltan Butuc (“Funny Money”).

Ol’ fluffy chest plays a mercenary-for-hire who accepts a mission from a billionaire to capture a dangerous snake that could possibly help cure a terminal illness.

The films – the first being titled “Anaconda 3 : The Offspring” - will be shot in – of course – Romania. It’s planned that they’ll premiere on the Sci Fi Channel before hitting DVD.

Loved the fake trailers in Grindhouse? Read on...

MGM has been confirmed as the distributor for Eli Roth's latest horror effort, Trailer Trash, which he is currently writing.

In addition to the studio, the site lists a release date of August 22, 2008, which has yet to be confirmed.

Trailer Trash is s full-length film consisting of fake movie trailers that all tie together.

Eli says, "TRAILER TRASH was inspired by the two days we filmed "Thanksgiving," which was the most fun I've ever had filming anything.

It is not a horror film, it's a comedy. It will be very R-rated and completely insane, and I'm producing it with Mike Fleiss (who I did both "Hostel" films with), and writing it with my friends Jeff Rendell (my "Thanksgiving" co-writer, who also played The Pilgrim), Noah Belson (my co-creator on "The Rotten Fruit,") and my brother Gabe, who's collaborated with me on everything I've ever done.

I want to make a film like "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," which I consider to be the greatest achievement in the history of cinema. The best part is I get to shoot some new THANKSGIVING scenes, as well as other holiday slasher films I've always dreamed of making but never would because they'd completely ruin me. I can't wait to shoot!"

"Benighted" werewolves set to storm the screen

Patrick Smith Kelly has been brought aboard to adapt Benighted , a supernatural thriller novel by Kit Whitfield. Graham King is producing along with Andrew Adamson for Warner Bros. through King's new production shingle, GK Films.

"Benighted" is set in an alternate reality in which 90% of the population are werewolves and the minority human population is responsible for keeping the peace during the full moon. The book follows the story of Lola, a member of the police force investigating a series of suspicious, unsolved murders.

King acquired the book in 2006. Adamson is eyeing the project as a possible directorial vehicle.

Kelly's credits include the Michael Douglas thrillers "A Perfect Murder" and "Don't Say a Word." He is working on "Ink" for Universal and Imagine.
