In the original, you saw a little bit of P.J. Soles, and a little bit of the Judith Myers actress in the opening scene...not much else. Very sparing with the nudity, and it was not thrown in the audience's face.

A lot of message boards, by the way, are definitely frequented by studio plants posing as "horror fans like you and me"...they show up with their subtle brainwashing tactics to convince you to "give the film a chance" and "ignore/forget your feelings about the original film" and so on. This of course has been standard practice since Blair Witch, the secret message board campaign.

They're pretty good about including spelling mistakes and other "errors" that make their posts look like they're written by innocent, fallible youngsters.

But like spammers, they are easy to spot because they generally have low post counts and don't spend too much time on other topics. And they show up out of nowhere, at just the right time...a week or two before the film's opening...

You are right. The original had it's fair share of it. Not nearly as much as the remake, but it did have a few tit scenes.

poo nuts....well, it is sort of a lame curse word, more on the funny side. you can call a cat a silly little poo nut if he's being dumb. or if you spill your fruit punch on the carpet and have to soak it up with paper towels you can say "OH POO NUTS" that way you won't offend people nearby by saying something harsher.

Thankfully I was able to watch the movie online (thank god I didn't pay to see it or I would have asked for my money back)...

Halloween is my all time fav horror movie... When I first found out it was going to be remade I was a bit upset because most remakes have been crap... Needless to say I wasn't surprised when I saw this movie that it wasn't as good as the first... I did like some of the back story, but that was about it... IMO RZ should have just made a pre Halloween movie... I think just telling the back story leading up to the original would have been a better movie then him trying (and IMO failing) to redo the whole movie.

Others HAVE watched it and many have LOVED it. So do go and watch it...and then form your own conclusions, like tony said.
i know you weren't advocating not watching it (excuse the double negative), besides the more members that view these 'love it or hate it' movies the better the debate is on here.

Now THAT actually sounds like an excellent idea...I really liked Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, and I'd imagine a "pre Halloween" would be something along those lines...Certainly better than messing with something that's already been done (and done quite well)

I haven't seen Zombie's Halloween yet, so I have to reserve judgement, but I honestly don't believe that I'll be surprised by anything when I do...I mean we ALL know his 'style', I'm pretty sure that we know exactly what to expect going in...And if what I've read in this thread so far is any indication, then yes, it IS going to be exactly what I would expect from Rob Zombie

I'll still buy it

Posted this in the "last seen movie" thread and decided to post it here as well.

Saw "Halloween" last night. Aside from a few things during the young Michael sequences, I thought it was really good. I can't believe how much members on this forum hated it. I also can't believe how badly y'all missed the point of this movie. Of course, this is the same community that voted "Shaun of the Dead" as the best horror movie since 2000, LOL. Anyway...I guess y'all wanted an exact replice of the classic we got 30 years ago. If Zombie did that then everyone would criticize him for no creaitivity/originality. This was his own take on the Myers character and I personally believe he did a pretty damn good job with it. Period.
