What a great, dumbfunny movie. Definitely got a few laughs out of me. I only wish that I had seen it in college - I would have found it to be THE FUNNEST MOVIE EVER!

Now... I think it's silly and well-done. I LOVE Trey Parker's sense of humor.

And BOY would I love to get my hands on that gun. ;)

Bigger Stronger Faster*

Incredibly intriguing and well-done documentary about performance-enhancing drugs, their users (their families), and a retrospective of their place in society, sports, etc.

The documentary focuses on the concept of being "Bigger, Stronger, Faster," how sports heroes take steroids to become literal super heroes in our society and how their image effects the society that reveres them. It also has a personal touch where the director, Chris Bell, turns the camera on his own family and their steroid usage (but isn't self-indulgent). It's actually refreshing to see both the sweeping biography of steroids and its affect on culture and cut it with personal experience.

All and all a very well-done and fascinating documentary. I recommend it.

Ljuset håller mig sällskap (Light Keeps Me Company) (2000)

An engaging biography/documentary/retrospective about master cinematographer Sven Nykvist, by his son Carl-Gustav Nykvist. It features narration by the man himself, interviews with filmmakers and actors he worked with, and so on. If you have any interested whatsoever in the man who made Bergman's films look as good as they did, I'd recommend giving it a watch. It's only 70 minutes or so, anyway.

Excellent psychological thriller. With the exception of a few issues with the music this film was near perfect.

Been wanting to see that for a long time.

Now i REALLY wanna.

The Hamiltons

Twisted little indie film about a family with a terrible secret... it's a flawed movie. Some horrible acting and there are times it just tries way too hard. But overall a freaky gruesome little story.

WOW, what a ridiculous amount of fanboy fun!

Quite frankly - Best $24 I spent in the theater in a very very long time.

My Bloody Valentine is a complete and utter homage to the 80s slasher film. The POINT of the gore is to emphasize and sensationalize an entire DECADE of horror that was obsessed with sex, blood, knives, and penetration. Each kill shot was composed BRILLIANTLY and giving nod to everything from Friday the 13th to Fulci's Zombie II.

Why is the script unoriginal and derivative? WHY do you have your pitiful fleeing victims repeatedly falling over themselves?! BECAUSE IT'S A PURPOSEFUL DERIVATION! My Bloody Valentine is spoofing the horror that came before, and EVEN spoofing splatter geniuses that came after! (I mean, part of the POINT of the splatterpunk genre is trying to one-up what came before you... Well, what better way to outdo your predecessors BUT DO IT IN 3D!!!!) Gratuitous? Superfluous? Unnecessary? ABSOLUTELY!!!!!

And did my boyfriend and I love it??? - ABSOLUTELY!!!

While the casual (pedestrian) horror viewer might look at this film as complete and utter horror tripe, My Bloody Valentine is an intelligent esoteric nod to horror fanboys.

For fans of the genre - Absolutely go see this film.

It's a guilty pleasure BLAST!
