I vote Mothman...but he didn't look much like that painting, actually he looked more like this picture--more humanoid, with glowing red eyes, and feathered wings.

That's a great painting, though!

I beg to differ. I have read multiple articles, and most of the eye-witnesses said that it didnt appear to have a head, but rather large eyes set in the chest. That pic is cool, but very inaccurate.

Well, not necessarily so. First off, the witness accounts vary greatly. Many did not see a visible head, but they may have been blinded by the red eyes, which were described by some as intensely hypnotic.

The witness who saw it the closest (it was standing next to her car) described a humanoid head on a flexible neck in an interview.
