I disagree, I usually like at least 3 out of the 5 major nominees and when acting nods are giving to films not nominated I check them out and more often than not enjoy 'em.

I usually dont see many nominees until long after the awards have been given out; I rarely see movies while they're still in theatres.

Dear God, I hope it does. It deserves SOMETHING. It was creative, artsy, unique...it needs some recognition.

Rodriguez pissed off the Director's Guild in the process of making it, it was an ensemble picture so no acting noms, and comic book movies only ever get technical awards anyways (usually for Sound Editing or something) and Kong is probably gonna sweep those anyways. I thought it was the best movie this year and I'd love it if it swept the Oscars, but it won't. But Crash and GNGL would be a hell of a consolation

I'll even take this a step further and perdict winners in all the main categories as well as nominations. As much as I'd like to see Sin City clean up, I think it's gonna be the gay cowboy movie that wins big this year. I don't see Sin City getting nominated for anything major at all, and only marginally for a handful of the smaller tech categories.

Best Picture-
Brokeback Mountain
Walk the Line
King Kong
Good Night, and Good Luck
Munich

Best Director-
Woody Allen (Match Point)
Steven Spielberg (Munich)
Peter Jackson (King Kong)
Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain)
George Clooney (Good Night, and Good Luck)

Best Actor-
Phillip Seymour Hoffman (Capote)
Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain)
Joaquin Phoenix (Walk the Line)
David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck)
*Russell Crowe (Cinderella Man)
*Terence Howard (Hustle and Flow)

*One of those two will make the cut and one won't.

Best Actress-
Felicity Huffman (Transamerica)
Charlize Theron (North Country)
Reese Witherspoon (Walk the Line)
Keira Knightley (Pride and Predjudice)
Judi dench (Mrs. Henderson Presents...)

Supporting Actor-
Paul Giammati (Cinderella Man)
George Clooney (Syriana)
Matt Dillon (Crash)
Jake Gyllenhall (Brokeback Mountain)
Bob Hoskins (Mrs. Henderson Presents...)

Supporting Actress-
Maria Bello (A History of Violence)
Scarlett Johanson (Match Point)
Rachel Wiesz (The Constant Gardner)
Diane Keaton (The Family Stone)
Michelle Williams (Brokeback Mountain)

Original Screenplay-
The Squid and the Whale
Crash
Match Point
Syriana
Good Night, and Good Luck

Adapted Screenplay-
Capote
Munich
Brokeback Mountain
Walk the Line
Memoirs of a Geisha

FX-
Chronicles of Narnia
Star Wars Episode 3
Harry Potter & Goblet of Fire
King Kong
War of the Worlds
