I agree completely about the ending to Hannibal. The way they "hollywoodized" the ending from the book was pathetic. I guess FBI agents just can't be bad in the big movies. I will stick with the book on this one.

The movie clearly showed why he developed cannibalistic tendencies. I thought it was a decent movie, if not a little too long.

I think that's true, not many people are that smart. He was able to write him convincingly in the beginning, and just lost it. I think that might be the readers' fault a little, people seem to "like" Hannibal and want to get to know the man, and even root for him. I think in a way, Harris just went in the direction people seemed to want him to go in. I just don't think that works; the main flaw with Hannibal as I see it, is that it takes away the mystery that made Hannibal so fascinating and frightening in the first two books. He didn't have that much power as a character anymore, in my opinion. Honestly, I never wanted to understand Hannibal better, because then he just became another serial killer( if far more intelligent than the average murderer), because Harris seemed at a loss when it came to exploring the more "human" side of Hannibal......it just didn't work for me. Also Harris should have just left Crawford out completely and mentioned him in passing, if he was going to treat that character in such a way.

I saw this back on Valentines Day. Not the unrated version though. I wasn't too impressed.
