The Dark Knight...heads and shoulders above anything else. Wall-E a distant second.

On the horror front, Let The Right One In, followed by [REC], then Cloverfield. In that order.

i'm not meaning to start any arguments or seem obnoxious but. . .

are these really what people think are the BEST films? i mean, seriously, cloverfield is the BEST film of the year or even in the top 200? i'm not arguing that it wasn't your 'favorite' film of the year - but BEST?

i mean i love horror films but to be totally honest, there are relatively few that i really think are among the BEST films of the year. (now in fairness i haven't seen LET THE RIGHT ONE IN and have read great reviews so that could actually be one of those rare films).

i guess i'm just asking if there is a difference for most people between their favorite film and what they think is the BEST film?

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button has been my favourite so far, W is probably second, and third is The Dark Knight.

you just have to move to L.A. it played here as part of the Screamfest Film Festival.

Everything plays in this town - there is always a screening you can catch.
