Ok, so I watched the first half and then I really needed to get some work done (it's not like I didn't know how it was going to end . . . *sigh*), but did anybody notice what a bitch the mom was. Obviously the story was told from her perspective so it may not have been that aparent, but there were a lot of things she did that were totally pissing me off. Like getting all pissed at her daughter for playing with a ball outside while the she was trying to work at her piano, what, is your gigantic fucking house not big enough to play the piano and let your young child play in the garage for fucks sake?
I don't know, I'll finish it soon and maybe I'm wrong, but . . .

So, that was pretty much just one stupid move after another leading up to a coupletely unlikely and unbelievable ending. Was I expecting any less? Nope. But I'm also not buying into any of the plot having a shread of believable psychology underneath the surface.
Not a bad movie though, I liked it when the point of view switches over to the deaf girl and they turn the audio way down, that was pretty cool.

that was pretty much it, you only missed 10 minutes or so, and there is an alternate ending

It was OK. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either. I didn't feel the need to own it, so, I guess it would be around a 5 to me. As others have said, I thought it was a little over the top in the believability area, but most horror flicks are.
I thought Isabelle Fuhrman did a great job as Esther. |
