2.Halloween(He did a fantastic job on this)
3.House of a 1000 Corpses(It was good but I thought the ending was stupid)
4.Halloween II(This was a huge let down)

Its funny how bi-polar the responses are when 'horror fans' talk about Rob Zombie or Eli Roth...(its actually a little restraint here)...

Why do you reckon that is? I always feel the ppl who seem to hate either director actually delike tehir fans alot more. Remaking a classic with Halloween of course hadn't done Zombie's cause much good but I feel ppl still had this attitude when he had only 2 films under his belt..

They all fit into the "cool to hate" category just like complaining about remakes. People just like to bring it up to get some cred when talking to horror fans.

They were both hyped as the saviours of modern horror a few years back too which fucked a lot of people off when they were disappointed in the films.

Zombie copped a lot of shit for doing the crossover from musician to director. People just seemed to think he had no business doing that.

I've noticed a lot of similar backlash in regards to Tarantino aswell.

But yeh there's no real middle ground is there?

House is my fav hands down. I remember right after Freddy Vs Jason there was this rumor about a movie being made where the Firefly family moves into a house next door to the Hewitt family. i thought this idea was fucking awesome but i also knew it would never happen

I don't think everybody gets Zombie's movies. They're smart and almost annoyingly postmodern. The problem with Halloween actually is that he couldn't balance the postmodern elements with the splatpunk ones and the source material. I didn't like Devil's Rejects as much as House because it's too damn cerebral and not nearly as intuitive.
