Avatar: I don't really know what to make of this one. Some aspects of the film I really enjoyed. That said, I have had my fill of sanctamonious story telling. The film pushed boundries in many ways but, for me, aspects of the film were almost retarded to the point of naivety. Do we really need to be told by mulit millionaire film makers the route of all evil is a corporate world and the only nobility to be found in life is via primative cultures? Save the planet, protect historical cultures, work a 50+ hour week, bring up a family and feel guilty about every luxury you ever have. I'm off home in my jet now, I might make another $300 movie in a few years telling you how cruel you all are.

OK, rant over. I enjoyed the film, I thought the acting was a bit hit and miss at times, but I thought the landscapes were beautiful. Regret not seeing it at the cinema, but I still thought it flowed nicely and looked great. Some quality action too.

Despite the fact that it is four hours and ten minutes, I really enjoyed it. Now I know its a miniseries, but with the DVD set it is presented more as a movie, so its kind of how I take it.

The Daisy Chain (2008)

A decently made Brit evil child film.

Das weisse Band aka The White Ribbon (2009)

I'm not sure how many of us here have already seen this Michael Haneke's latest film (it was nominated in last Oscar as the Best Foreign Language film & Best Achievement in Cinematography category), the reason I'm saying it cause it won't be fair to give some comments or a review until a good number of dedicated film lovers here seen this Magnificent film. I don't like to spoil a bit of fun for you by discussing any thing regarding this masterpiece.
I'd rather suggest you to go & watch it asap without having any kind of idea about the story or expectations like the way I have just seen it last night & it just blew me away! One of the few best of best films that I have came across in recent years.

But I can't control myself to give away a little spoiler...this will give you the tastes of every great genre in high quality.

Highly recommended to Fortunato, _V_, NE, Doc, Chrono, Psycho_D &.....everyone!

Insanitorium.

A silly piece of twaddle. Not worth the time.

The Counterfeiters (2007). This period flick was a splendid take on moral ambiguity and how far one should go to save one's skin. The occasional brutality in this film is naked and alarmingly sterile. The acting was sublime, with the two protagonists playing against each other perfectly. The direction and camera work were remarkable as well. This is simply a must see for any fan of great foreign cinema. Ashe.

"A Nightmare on Elm Street" (1984)
Starring Robert Englund as Freddy Kruger and Heather Langenkamp as Nancy Thompson and introducing Johnny Depp as Glen Lantz. Great movie, enjoyed the original movie.
