I think I agree with you. Disappointing. But I wasn't expecting much to start with.

I just watched Idiocracy.

I like King of the Hill so I thought it would be quite dry humour but it was a little bit over the top. I suppose it was meant to be. There are quite a few subtle jokes like how the name of the company Fuddruckers slowly changes to Buttfuckers hahaha!

It was worth watching and the guy who plays the president, also Chris's dad in Everybody Hates Chris, always makes me laugh.

Worth watching and probably good for someone who isn't interested in the very real problem that it is a social commentary on.

"Cloud Atlas" 7/10

You don't see THAT story every day. A tiny bit long.

"The Collection" 7-8/10 A good sequal to the fairly praised The Collector. Could easilly be the new franchise after Saw/Hostel. :)

Screamers The Hunting.

I like the first Screamers movie. It's kind of a cool sci-fi/horror movie. It has Peter Weller and it's based off a Philip K. Dick story. Part 2 or Screamers The Hunting starts off well. Almost like Aliens. Lance Henriksen is even in it. I was excited. Then at one moment it starts to do just about everything wrong or in the usual seen before manner. You'll know it when you see the one guy make a sacrifice and what the result is seconds later. This is the fault of the director and in many ways the writer. There is a funny part when Gina Holden's character gives a "yes sir" to her commanding officer. Instead of being angry/pissed off at him pulling rank because of her back story, it's a "yes sir" without emotion. She also does something incredibly stupid halfway through the movie which leads to another dumb twist that most talented directors/writers do their best to avoid in horror/sci-fi movies. Another character dies because it's time in the script. They even request for a few moments alone. It's "unreal." The movie even begins to break simple continuity with the original movie. Still, for fans of the first it's worth a watch. It does resolve the cliffhanger ending of the first movie. It also has a good music cue that's used when the troops are returning to their ship and at the beginning of the end credits. It has Gina Holden and she's cool in it right up to the crazy stuff happening. I'll probably get the Blu-ray when it's dirt cheap one day, like below $5, just to go with the original Screamers.

Cabin in the Woods.

My review with spoilers in the Cabin in the Woods thread:

Mardi Gras Massacre (1978)-A textbook example of a film that's so bad it's good. You have classy characters; the nerdy pimp who only talks in rhymes, the killer asking hookers if they are "evil", the cop who's only interested in catching the killer when his love interest is in jeopardy and suddenly springs into action when he discovers this. Comparisons with HG Lewis's "Blood Feast" are inevitable but honestly how people took this film seriously enough to be offended by it and so becoming a video nasty is beyond my comprehension. There's only one gore scene and it is repeated for every murder so it's the laziness of that which I found a little shocking. Cheap, cheerful, with bucketloads of sleaze and dry one liners such as the killer ordering chinese takeaway "And.............a fortune cookie" make this a lot of fun to watch :)

The House of the Devil and The Innkeepers on back to back nights.

Really dig Ti West's style. Very suspenseful and full of characters that you actually don't want to die (which is rare these days).

Not really impressed. I got a little bored about halfway through it.I rented 2 movies from Redbox tonight. This being one of them, the other being 247F. Sure both about being trapped somewhere,I just was in the mood for them. I hope 247F is better. I've read its not good either. But I watched Frozen and that was decent. So I thought id give it a shot well see.

The Hole (2009)

I was looking forward to this movie and to be honest I thought it was disappointing. The acting was pretty appalling, the movie had promise but was a bit uneven. Disappointing entry from Dante.

...

Iron Sky

Awesome concept, good popcorn movie but I think it would have been a better short instead of a feature-length. Julia Dietze is ridiculously hot, though. Kinda wanna do her.

The Pact (2012)

Decent little horror movie. Good atmospheric moments though the reveal was a bit odd. There was a lot going on and I actually wanted to see more.

...

Ted (2012)

bahaha - I had very low expectations of this but it made me laugh out loud quite a few times. Had some genuinely funny moments from the morbidly ridiculous to base Boston humor. The end went a little long but otherwise the fiance and I absolutely loved it.

...

Men in Black 3 (2012)

This was an utter blast. Kinda wish we had seen it in the theater. Josh Brolin was utterly hilarious and, though cheesy, I loved the "twist" ending.

Thoroughly enjoyable.
