OK, you do know that it's not fool proof right? I know someone (ex-coworker, still friend) that had that done and still got his wife pregnant. No doubt there was the whole horrible "you cheated on me " thing, but after DNA tests it was his (and I don't want to sound mean, but if you ever saw her, well you'd know it was his).Just be careful and sure in your desicion and afterwards don't think its just free for all. Take care.

It's not a hysterectomy that women get done, those are two different things. I'm getting a tubal and i have read that it is much easier for a man to do this than what i'm doing. I think if a person really does not want/like kids they should do it. I think it is better than having a kid that you DO NOT want.

A successful vasectomy is confirmed by doing semen checks (see confirming sterility); after which, there remains a small risk of failure. To elucidate this risk, if 3000 couples were sexually active and did so unprotected for 10 years, one pregnancy would result in the entire group over that 10 year period.

Fool proof? No. But the odds aren't in favor of failure
