There's a big differrence between a guy(Jonze) startijng out with music videos and Scorsese who already had Taxi Driver and Raging Bull under his hat before doing a video.

Just look at McG as an example of garbage ....

Or, to help your argument, Fincher.

I actually had to watch the Birds in my film class with all the other students. That class was very cool. Its gonna be tough to re-make and use Hitchcock's style. Im assuming all of us seen it. This is a confusing movie to begin with but Hitchcock made it good. The Birds wasnt one of Hitchcock's best movie anyways. Too many questions left unanswered. I already see the theatre flipping out about this re-make's ending if it follows the original. I was like WTF with the original. The Birds isnt really a horror movie... I would rather call it a suspense/thriller. Thats why i would be worried that this re-make would go for that CGI cool effects with lot of cool gore and killings and be one of those special effects movie with bad plot.

SPOILER:
With the children singing that "repititious" song and birds gathering on the playground set..... Switching between the scenes built good suspense. People did that back in that time. They dont do that now so you really cant leave that great part out but it also wouldnt make sense to put it in today's current times. Thats just an example of how you just cant change actors and follow similar plot. And we all know this re-make wont have the good score or have the good camera angles.

I dont see this re-make to be good at all...... Personally, the orignal wasnt that great either. I would like to see some reasoning behind what the hell is going on which Hitcock never really gave us. The characters werent that interesting either back then..... This re-make is gonna be some CGI eye candy but thats about it.

That really sucks. Hitchcock was a genius. People need to stop messing with these classic films. I am so tired of these asshats taking really great films and turning them into mediocre modern day trash. Granted, Texas Chainsaw Masacre was redone rather well, but that's not really the point.

What made the original Chainsaw genius was what the director DIDN'T show you. Because you had to imagine what had happened to the victim it was much more terrifying. Whatever was the scariest thing YOU could think of was what you saw. Nothing is left to the imagination anymore.

Whoever evented CGI should be fucking shot. They have been overkilling it for way too long.

Sometimes CGI is needed and sometimes its not necessary... I dont have a problem with CGI if its done right.... The problem is when the movie depends solely on some special effects to make the movie..... then you get crap like Boogeyman where the plot is a joke. You gotta admit those birds in Hitchcock's version was pretty funny but good back in those days. Those fake birds were hilarious when they tied the bird around the kids and have the kids run around screaming.... Thats where CGI can make it look much more believable but after that, I dont see this re-make doing any justice to Hitchcock's version. However, I didnt care too much for the original so I definetly wont go see this newer version.
