This is my absolute favorite movie of all time. I know all of the dialogue by heart. It is brilliant. I strongly recommend getting the director's cut. They took out so many amazing and needed scenes for the time cut.

Got myself a copy. Well chuffed :D
I think I like it more and the music and atmosphere is just great. Definatly one to watch alone though, to avoid the "whats going on", "I dont get it" comments and just for a better watch. |

BTW has anyone heard about the troubles his follow-up Southland Tales is having? Rumor around town calls it an incoherent piece of shit - I'm intrigued.

[QUOTE=Roderick Usher;579220]I really liked the theatrical version, but didn't enjoy the director's cut. I actually found the editing to be the right call. The confusion created by the time-loop scenario is part of the beauty of it all.
[QUOTE] Hmmm. I agree that most of the scenes added back in for the directors cut weren't necessary with one glaring exception, the scene with the argument between Donnie and Gretchen. When I first saw the theatrical version of this, I couldn't understand why he acts so weird about her showing up at his house during the Halloween party. It just seemed really disjointed to me. Then when I saw the director's cut, it finally made sense. I also missed the longer conversation with Drew Barrymore's character when she's leaving. I was really glad, after watching all the cut scene stuff, to see that they took out all the scenes that really explain what the intent was and left it more up to taking it as you decided. That's one of my favorite parts about this film and the director's cut has those scenes removed, as well.

Just saw this movie. It was very good.I was suprised by it.I thought it would be totally different but its still impressed me anyway.Jake was a really good actor in this.I liked his facial expressions, like hes zoned out on cocaine.I recommend this movie to anyone who likes movies that make you think. The ending was weird though,i feel sorry for Donnie.
