I liked High Tension, and Frontiers, but Martyr's was something else.

It seemed like two short movies hooked together, and the reasoning behind it seemed ridiculous and unjustifiable. That was the only horror movie (if you can call it a horror movie) that bothered me.

It's the only movie I never wanted to see again.

I like movies that take a very different turn like halfway through the plot, so I sort of liked Martrys. It's definitely something else.

High Tension was an awesome movie. I don't think some people really understood the twist, so I feel it's somewhat unjustly written-off as just another slasher flick. I haven't seen Frontier(s) yet.

They did a pretty good job in the special effects dept with the fake neck, and what a twist on getting head!

Alexandre Aja's films have great special effects. Mirrors had probably the some of the best effects in any of his movies.

(Although not really new) Inside, Martyrs and Frontiers. I'm sure I'll get some flak for this but I liked High Tension UP till the end, seemed too much like a copout to me.....

Making Off-not sure about DVD added to watch list but not available-it's French that claims it's more horrific than A Serbian Film....I find that hard to believe plus the trailer doesn't look promising but because of the comparison I want to see it.

I thought Inside was far more disturbing than A Serbian Film. ASF was kinda forgettable to be, while Inside left much more of an impact. I think ASF is vastly overrated in terms of "disturbing factor", but I think it's a well-made movie.

Inside made my top 5 after I saw it, loved every aspect.....I think we've chatted on a thread about ASF and I think it was very well made, only one part disturbed me (the sheets) but I still like it. The trailer for Making Off.....never would have given it a second thought looks bunk but again, if trying to make the comparison I'm in to give it a try......as long as it's not just straight up torture.

Both movies are too over-the-top to be really disturbing.

Irreversible, on the other hand....brrrrrrrrr

ugh HATED Irreversible! the only thing I liked was the bashing of the head in the beginning with the fire hydrant, they did good work there. But the cinematography....made me dizzy idk i know it was a well done movie just not my cup of tea
