I don't know how you make a Nightmare movie without Robert Englund. I feel the same about the remake of Evil Dead thats coming out, how Bruce Campbell is not in it as Ash its sacrilegious

Even though i dont like remakes there really is no point in keeping the same cast. The whole point of remakes is to do the movie differently while also paying homage to the original. If you just keep the same people, then you're essentially just making the same movie. The trick is to cast someone who can do justice to the role and unfortunately that's where a lot of horror movies and really any movie being remade that has a stong character in the original falls short. Everyone is going to be upset by the casting and thats going to negatively affect the movie. That's why unless you're going to do a remake right, you just shouldnt do it.

Agreed, and thats why for the most part I am against all the remakes coming out. In the case of Freddy and Ash those characters are so iconic to their respective franchises, and to me both are in direct relation to what made those characters so memorable. Neither should be remade they were both done right the first time.

I agree and its a big reason why i hate remakes. I was really upset when i heard they were remaking Nightmare but i actually like Jackie Earl Haley and i wanted to see what he could do. I thought he was interesting but as a whole i hated it. There needs to be more good original horror movies with strong characters and villains instead of just countless remake after remake.

The problem with most the remakes coming out is they are remaking movies that were done right the first time. Movies like Friday the 13th, Halloween, and A nightmare on elm street were great the way were. The only remake I have liked that comes to mind was Dawn of the Dead, and to your point Snyder did it right he took a concept of zombies in a mall and gave his own take on it.

Yeah the Dawn of The Dead remake was great. The only other recent one i can think of is The Crazies.

Oh see when you said buried, it made it sound like you hated all of them and that no one should ever mention them or show them ever again. I loved the first one but i thought the others were all interesting in their own way except the remakes and Resurrection. That never should've been made.
