I never really played the Halo series much but when 3 came out I figured I'd go ahead and pick it up to see what the hype was all about. While I admit it is a fun game to me it doesn't come any where near to be.

Loved both Halo games and can't wait to get the third. Forge itself looks like amazing fun.

I played through the first one...it was ok despite those stupid little midget things running around screaming like girls...there was some solid combat and nice graphics, the atmosphere was cool, and the fights pretty intense in parts.
I sisn't quite think that it lived up to "most revolutionary shooter ever" hype it seemed to get at the time...but it was one of the better ones. Nothing too original though.
From what I've heard, the second was more of the same?

The third looks pretty sweet imo...but, having heard that people had completed it in between 6-8 hours seems a little short, I dunno...

You can't really go by that, I finished Batman Begins in 5 hours. If I wasn't such a fanboy that probably would've honestly been more like 3 weeks.

Gotta admit, co-op online is a nice feature...I remember back in the day, you could mess with doom 2 like that...

I hate Halo, it's right up there with Uwe Boll and my uncle Mike.

Halo WAS revolutionary, if you look at it as a console FPS which it was. Sure it wasn't anything new to PC gamers but there was nothing really like it on the consoles. Before I played the first Halo I think my favorite FPS on a console was Timesplitters which Halo beat in size, graphics, presentation... it was a beautifully constructed single player and multiplayer experience for a console. I remember being a beta tester for the first Killzone shortly after Halo came out, I was so excited because I thought the FPS was getting better and better on the consoles... I was wrong.
