By the way, for anyone remotely curious, that is not a real quote from Jeremiah 19, nor does it say anything about gates of hell.

Julia (2014)
Revenge flick with some very unpleasant scenes, a good performance from the lead keep this watchable. The plot is a little weak and the ending doesn't make sense. Overall, not bad but could've been a lot better.

Saw Deepwater Horizon in the cinema. It was pretty entertaining. Some great sequences. It's the type of movie that should be watched in cinemas.
Kurt Russell was great in it and so was Mark Wahlberg. I recommend checking it out. |

The poster above me reminded me to post my review of Deepwater Horizon. I saw it Wednesday and just forgot to write about it since I got home late.
Deepwater Horizon Surprisingly entertaining and really intense. It reminded me a lot of last year's Everest, which was another great docudrama disaster movie. It also wasn't just a dumb disaster flick where a bunch of people die off just for the sake of dying; the characters were memorable, well-written and well-acted. The special effects were also incredible.

It's very detailed and also adds a lot to the suspense of the movie. |

The first act is all lead up to the disaster and the reasons and people behind it. It's a relatively short movie (98 minutes or something) so it has quite a bit of its run time devoted to that.
