Alice: Madness Returns (American McGee's Alice II)

Electronics Arts has announced that it has a fresh project under development - Alice: Madness Returns. The dark and deranged sequel of American McGee's Alice (released in 2000) will be released in 2011.

Spruced with new visuals, story and game design EA's Alice: Madness Returns game would be released for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 platforms.

Alice: Madness Returns is the journey of emotional trauma ridden Alice through the wildly shattered Wonderland. The purpose is to uncover the truth about her haunted past. This third person action game takes place a decade after the original Alice game concluded. The protagonist Alice steps out of an asylum after being institutionalized at the confidence of psychiatrist who'd help her overcome 'nightmarish hallucinations' that haunt her.

This game is about Alice's journey from dark London to provocative Wonderland to find out the true cause of her family's mysterious death. This game is being developed by China based Spicy Horse game developers who've also developed American McGee's Grimm. Surprisingly, the first Alice game developer Rogue Entertainment has been dropped from the plan.
