The Official Zombie Handbook UK

Greetings All,

I wanted to let you all know that I have just published the Official Zombie Handbook UK through Severed Press & I hope it will be something of interest to the forum.

I read with interest remarks here on the Zombie Survival Guide - mine is a different take - more survival, less comic, more content-driven. Also, focus is mainly on a disaster in the UK...

I have looked at developing a 90-Day Survival Plan for the average person but the plan will work just as well in any country which has few fire arms or large urban environments. It includes water, food, energy etc...

It's taken nearly 3 years of research looking at everything from London's emergency plans to the price of the used whaler...everything set against the background of an outbreak of the living dead.

I cover all of the home fortification & weapons stuff as well as some of the lesser cover topics such guidelines for those with disabilities or being caught abroad during a zombie outbreak.

If you are into survival horror then it should be right up your street.

Enough of the blurb - here are the links for reviews which should give you a flavour of the book :-

Yeah - it's by a guy called Dave Lange - he's done quite a few for Severed Press & a lot of work on DVD covers - that kind of thing. He's done a few more inside the book but the cover blew me away when they first sent it.

I wasn't sure whether it was too much or folks would like it - overall, peeps have loved it...

You should check out some stuff by Wayne Barlowe. He does a lot of aliens, fantasy, and demonic art. Really strange stuff.

The cover looks great its intriguing. Nice job.

Wow - I checked out some of his stuff - amazing - reminded me of some of the older illustrations in the HP Lovecraft stuff..

They say you shouldn't judge a book by the cover but I suppose when the publisher makes a real effort - it does at least show they have invested in it. I looked back at some my purchases & it was the cover that drew me in, that & the blurb etc...

I hope it works in my case - interest has been good so far - we'll see how it goes. Got some excellent reviews which helps. It also helps if you love your subject - it's not something I've jumped onto as it is popular. I'll be writing about zombies long after they are unfashionable again...
